Antique Chinese Eggshell Thin Porcelain Vase
Qing Qianlong Nian Zhi Republic Period
For your consideration is a gorgeous eggshell-thin soft-contoured mallet vase.
It has been lovingly displayed by
our
family for many years.  It is now time to downsize a bit and find a new custodian for this special piece.
I am not an expert in Chinese antiques, but have tried to research this lovely vase to the extent possible.  It is truly
eggshell/translucent.
The piece has a flaring mouth, a waisted neck and pear shaped tapering body.  Based on
comparisons, I think this
was produced early in the period.
The motif appears to be a traditional tea scene.  The vase is rich with vibrant hand painted colors and the neck of
the vase is adorned with hidden koi fish representing tenacity, wealth, luck and courage.

The vase also comes with a wooden display base that stands appropriately 1” high.  It has filigree around the perimeter
and complements the piece very nicely.
