VTG MID CENTURY MODERN TAPIO WIRKKALA FINLAND HANGING LAMP RETRO CEILING LIGHT

Here we have an original 1960's 70's era ~ TAPIO WIRKKALA "FINLAND" MID CENTURY HANGING CEILING LIGHT ~ that we just acquired out of a wonderful estate. The piece is signed TAPIO WIRKKALA  - FINLAND as pictured. A very modern, sleek smoky glass cylinder design fixture. We could not find any others like it, so imagine it is most likely not an easy example to find. I would imagine not all that many were ever made. It does work, as we did test it. The condition is wonderful with no chips and it was obviously very well preserved over all these decades.  The glass portion measures approximately 7 1/2 inches tall by 5 3/4 inches across. As it is set up now it hangs approximately 15 inches from the ceiling.
